How are wood Stick&Go panels installed?

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

  • Clean the Surface: Make sure the surface where you will be applying the stone veneer is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any loose paint, dust, dirt, or debris. For outdoor installations or in damp areas, ensure the weather is dry.
  • Prime the Surface (if required): Depending on the type of surface and the manufacturer’s recommendations, you might need to apply a primer to ensure better adhesion of the panels. This is especially important if you are installing the panels on non-porous surfaces like glass, metal, or certain types of plastic.

Step 2: Plan Your Layout

  • Measure the Area: Take precise measurements of the installation area to determine how many panels you will need. Consider windows, doors, and other architectural features.
  • Dry Fit the Panels: Arrange the panels next to the installation area to finalize the layout. This step helps you visualize the final look and make any necessary adjustments or cuts before installation. If panels need to be cut to fit, use a suitable saw with a diamond blade.

Step 3: Install the Panels

  • Remove the Backing: Peel off the protective backing to expose the adhesive. Be careful not to touch the adhesive layer too much, as oils from your hands can reduce its effectiveness.
  • Apply the Panels: Start from the bottom corner of the installation area and press the first panel firmly against the surface. Make sure it is perfectly aligned with your layout plan.
  • Press Firmly: Use a rubber roller or a soft mallet to press over the entire surface of the panel to enhance adhesion. Ensure there are no air bubbles under the panels.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

  • Align and Continue: Continue applying the panels, ensuring each one is aligned with the others and that the edges meet tightly to avoid visible seams.
  • Cutting as Necessary: If you need to make cuts around fixtures or at the edges, measure and mark the panel, then cut it with a wet saw or angle grinder equipped with a diamond blade.
  • Clean Up: After all panels are in place, clean the surface of any smudges or fingerprints using a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents that might damage the surface of the panels.
